Since 1999, MOMus has been housed in a <strong data-start=\"523\" data-end=\"545\">modernist building<\/strong> inside the grounds of the <strong data-start=\"572\" data-end=\"613\">Thessaloniki International Trade Fair<\/strong>, acting as a true beacon of <strong data-start=\"642\" data-end=\"673\">modern and contemporary art<\/strong> not only for <b>\u0398\u03b5\u03c3\u03c3\u03b1\u03bb\u03bf\u03bd\u03af\u03ba\u03b7 <\/b>but for <strong data-start=\"708\" data-end=\"727\">Northern Greece<\/strong> as a whole.<\/p><p data-start=\"743\" data-end=\"866\">The museum currently features <strong data-start=\"773\" data-end=\"801\">three unique exhibitions<\/strong>, one permanent and two temporary. Let\u2019s explore them together.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-89de4cc e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"89de4cc\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2e11500 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"2e11500\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Donation of Iolas, Xydis and Aperghis<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f04d5ea elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"f04d5ea\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\"><b>Permanent exhibition<\/b><\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-14421d0 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"14421d0\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p data-start=\"944\" data-end=\"1346\">The museum\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.momus.gr\/en\/exhibitions\/dorea-iola-xydi-kai-apergi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>permanent exhibition<\/b><\/a>\u00a0begins with the generous donations of three key figures in the <strong data-start=\"1045\" data-end=\"1064\">Greek art scene<\/strong>: <strong data-start=\"1066\" data-end=\"1098\">Alexandros Iolas <\/strong><span data-start=\"1066\" data-end=\"1098\">(1908\u20131987)<\/span>, <strong data-start=\"1100\" data-end=\"1132\">Alexandros Xydis <\/strong><span data-start=\"1100\" data-end=\"1132\">(1917\u20132004)<\/span> and <strong data-start=\"1137\" data-end=\"1171\">Achilleas Aperghis <\/strong><span data-start=\"1137\" data-end=\"1171\">(1909\u20131986)<\/span>. Their contributions brought together an impressive mix of works, from <strong data-start=\"1243\" data-end=\"1273\">Greek contemporary artists<\/strong> to international icons such as <strong data-start=\"1305\" data-end=\"1320\">Andy Warhol<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1325\" data-end=\"1343\">Victor Brauner<\/strong>.<\/p><p data-start=\"1348\" data-end=\"1636\">These collections helped shape the identity of the <strong data-start=\"1399\" data-end=\"1435\">MOMus Museum of Contemporary Art<\/strong> and played a major role in the creation of the <strong data-start=\"1483\" data-end=\"1510\">Contemporary Art Center<\/strong>. Showcasing the works of <strong data-start=\"1949\" data-end=\"1972\">Vasilis Vasilakakis<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1974\" data-end=\"1992\">Vangelis Gokas<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1997\" data-end=\"2017\">Ilias Papailakis<\/strong>, this exhibition takes inspiration from <strong data-start=\"2058\" data-end=\"2087\">Hans Christian Andersen\u2019s<\/strong> famous fairy tale and reflects on how we see the world around us.<\/p><p data-start=\"2157\" data-end=\"2410\">In a time when images flash by in seconds, these three acclaimed <strong data-start=\"2222\" data-end=\"2240\">Greek painters<\/strong> invite us to pause. Their art doesn\u2019t shout, it whispers. Through deep colors, shadows and textures, they remind us that stillness can reveal truths we often overlook.<\/p><p data-start=\"2412\" data-end=\"2647\"><strong data-start=\"2412\" data-end=\"2435\">\u201cThe King is Naked\u201d<\/strong> is more than an exhibition. It is a quiet dialogue about <strong data-start=\"2493\" data-end=\"2505\">painting<\/strong>, its power and its persistence. Titled <strong data-start=\"2925\" data-end=\"2992\">\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.momus.gr\/en\/exhibitions\/marianna-ignataki-oi-sofoi-ta-prasina-aloga-kai-merika-akoma-ktini\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Enlightened Ones, the Green Horses and Some More Bitches<\/a>,\u201d<\/strong> it creates a dreamlike space where boundaries disappear and freedom takes new forms.<\/p><p data-start=\"3081\" data-end=\"3369\">Through watercolor, painting, drawing and sculptural installations, Ignataki brings to life characters that exist beyond identity and definition.
