Christmas decorations are lighting up the streets once again, bringing a warm and festive feeling to cities across Northern Greece. One of the best parts of the season is visiting Christmas Villages, unless you truly dislike cool rides, hot chocolate, and Christmas treats like Melomakarona and Kourampiedes. In that case, you can probably skip this article.
For everyone else, Christmas Villages are the perfect place for a relaxed walk, a warm drink, and a taste of the holiday spirit. Some visitors come for the rides, others for the small market stalls or the ice rinks, while many simply enjoy the atmosphere. That is why we have selected three Christmas villages in Northern Greece that are worth visiting this winter, one in Θεσσαλονίκη and two in nearby towns, and are ideal for a short holiday trip filled with festive moments and seasonal fun.
Asterokosmos has become a classic Christmas destination in Thessaloniki and one of the most popular Christmas Villages in Northern Greece. Set in an area of more than 40,000 square meters, it offers everything you expect from a festive park. Visitors can enjoy a large ice rink of 650 square meters, several playgrounds, fun rides, and a full program of daily activities.
Food lovers will also feel at home here, with more than 30 small stalls offering snacks, sweets, and warm drinks. Throughout the season, Asterokosmos hosts concerts and theatrical performances, adding to the lively holiday atmosphere. Make sure to visit Santa’s Village inside the park, where children can write letters to Santa and fully enjoy the Christmas magic.

You may not be familiar with the Greek internet scene, but Unboxholics are well known for creating fun and original projects. This Christmas, they have taken things a step further by building a full Christmas village near their hometown of Aridea, right next to the Pozar Thermal Baths. Fairytale Land, also known as Paramithochora, is quickly becoming one of the most interesting Christmas destinations in Northern Greece.
The village includes a large amusement park for children, a Christmas market with wooden stalls, and a wide selection of food, drinks, sweets, gifts, and handmade crafts. There are many activities for the whole family, as well as special events every day with different guests, making each visit feel unique.
If you are planning a trip to Paramithochora, we strongly suggest bringing a swimsuit and visiting the nearby Pozar Thermal Baths.
